Iran’s Security Chief Urges All-Out Efforts to Stop Israel’s War Machine

Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Akbar Ahmadian called for global attempts to stop Israel’s war machine in the Gaza Strip which has so far killed 16,000 people, mainly women and children.

to report «iusnews»; Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Akbar Ahmadian called for global attempts to stop Israel’s war machine in the Gaza Strip which has so far killed 16,000 people, mainly women and children.

In a meeting with Head of the International Liaison Department of the Chinese Communist Party Liu Jianchao in Tehran on Wednesday, Ahmadian said Iran and China can join hands to form a united global front against the Israeli atrocities in the besieged enclave.

“The Zionist regime’s war machine in Gaza has to be stopped through multifaceted international efforts,” he added.

The Chinese official, for his part, described Iran as a connecting bridge between East and West of the world, and said the country is a major component in China’s global transport project known as One Belt One Road.

He also appreciated Iran’s role in maintaining peace in the Western Asia region, adding that Beijing supports Tehran’s policies to guarantee sustainable security and stability in the region.

The senior diplomat said that Washington continues to play a negative role in many parts of the world by sticking to its interventionist policies, adding that Iran and China should work to confront US unilateralism.

China has adopted totally different policy from the US towards the Gaza war, calling for a ceasefire, humanitarian access to the besieged strip. Beijing has also stressed that a two-state solution to establish an independent Palestine is the “fundamental way out” of the conflict.

Moreover, days after the US shuttle diplomacy in West Asia which culminated in President Joe Biden’s historic wartime visit to Tel Aviv, China started its own diplomatic push to prevent a wider conflict in the region.

In late October, Zhai Jun, China’s special envoy to the Middle East, embarked on a tour of the region aimed at promoting peace – even though Beijing still refuses to condemn or even name the Palestinian group Hamas in any of its statements.

In early October, Hamas launched a multi-pronged surprise military operation via land, sea and air against Israel. The group announced it was in response to the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem and Israeli settlers’ growing violence against Palestinians. The attacks have so far killed more than 1,200 and injured over 5,500, according to Israeli officials. Hamas also announced it is holding between at least 200 and 250 hostages.

Following the multi-front attack by Hamas, Israel carried out heavy bombardment across the Gaza Strip, killing more than 16,200 Palestinians, including at least 7,000 children and over 4,800 women, and wounding over 42,000 others, and levelling entire neighbourhoods. Thousands more are missing and feared buried under the rubble. The bombing, as well as enforced displacement orders by the Israeli Army, has also pushed 1.9 million people out of their homes.

Tel Aviv has also imposed a "complete siege" on Gaza, cutting off food, electricity, fuel and water supplies. The move has plunged the blockaded territory into a humanitarian crisis.

The Gaza Health Ministry has confirmed that the healthcare system in the besieged territory has “totally collapsed due to the Israeli war”. Dozens of hospitals and tens of medical centers are out of service due to Israeli raids, according to the enclave's health ministry. The UN agencies have also warned that the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip is "catastrophic", calling for more international help as conditions deteriorate in the densely populated besieged enclave.

Tehran says the history of Israel is full of assassinations, massacre, torture and killing of Palestinian kids, and described Tel Aviv regime's atrocities and massacre of Palestinian women and children as indicative of the destitute of Zionists. Iranian officials say Tel Aviv has been struggling for more than 70 years to exit its identity crisis which has been mixed with genocide, plunder, forced displacement and scores of other inhumane moves.
