Iran: IAEA Responsible for Israeli Regime’s Possible Nuke Threats in Gaza

Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Mohammad Eslami underlined that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will be responsible for the Israeli regime's possible nuclear threats against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

to report «iusnews»; Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Mohammad Eslami underlined that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will be responsible for the Israeli regime's possible nuclear threats against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

"Israel continues to threaten the world with nuclear bomb attacks while it has refused to sign IAEA’s protocols banning the spread of the use of such weapons," Eslami told reporters on Wednesday.

“The IAEA bears the ultimate responsibility for any incident,” he added.

Eslami's remarks came after an Israeli minister said that the regime should use nuclear bombs in its attacks against Gaza where it has been involved in a relentless military campaign since early October.

"The threats have revealed the real nature and intentions of the Zionist regime for the world," Eslami further said.

He said the regime had previously threatened to use nuclear bombs against Iran.

Tehran has called for global condemnation of Israeli Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu’s threat of using nuclear bombs against the Gaza Strip, pointing out that it counts as an admission of possessing atomic bombs.

In relevant remarks in mid-November, Iranian Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN warned against the Israel regime's threat of using nuclear weapons.

Such nuclear threats recently made by the regime’s top officials against Iran and Palestine highlight "the peril of these arms in the hands of such an illegitimate regime", Amir Saeid Iravani said before the fourth session of the Conference on the Establishment of a Middle East Zone Free of Nuclear Weapons and Other Weapons of Mass Destruction at the UN in New York.

And this is a “significant threat to regional stability,” Iravani  added.

“Now, more than ever, the establishment of a WMD-free Middle East stands as an essential step towards a safer, and more secure future,” he pointed out.

Israel, which pursues a policy of deliberate ambiguity about its nuclear weapons, is estimated to possess 200 to 400 nuclear warheads in its arsenal, making it the sole possessor of non-conventional arms in West Asia. The illegitimate entity has, however, refused to either allow inspections of its military nuclear facilities or sign the NPT. The Zionist regime has assassinated at least seven Iranian nuclear scientists and conducted a series of sabotage operations against the Islamic Republic’s nuclear facilities.

Tehran has repeatedly stressed the necessity for countries which possess atomic weapons to take practical steps towards disarmament. Iran has also proposed the creation of a nuclear-weapon-free zone in the Middle East. Iran has deplored the Israeli regime's clandestine nuclear program as a real threat to the Middle East region.

Tehran has repeatedly declared that its nuclear program remains purely peaceful as always and that the Islamic Republic had no intention of developing nuclear weapons as a matter of an Islamic and state principal.
