Iranian President: Israel Seeking to Spread Tensions in Region

Iranian President Seyed Ebrahim Rayeesi cautioned that Israel is desperately trying to bring insecurity and instability to other parts of the region as the regime has failed to gain its expected goals in its genocidal war in the Gaza Strip.

to report «iusnews»; Iranian President Seyed Ebrahim Rayeesi cautioned that Israel is desperately trying to bring insecurity and instability to other parts of the region as the regime has failed to gain its expected goals in its genocidal war in the Gaza Strip.

In a telephone conversation with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on Wednesday, Iran’s president said that having failed to achieve its objectives in the ongoing military campaign against the Palestinian people in Gaza, the Zionist regime is currently under international pressure, desperately seeking to spread tensions to other parts of the region.

"The Iranian nation has proven that such terrorist acts cannot dent their will, national cohesion and resilient spirit," he emphasized.

Rayeesi expressed confidence that further communication between Tehran and Doha at different levels will definitely lead to the development of bilateral, regional and international relations and play a key role in the joint fight against the Israeli regime's crimes.

More than 80 people, including children and women, were martyred and over 280 wounded as two explosions ripped through a memorial to mark the fourth anniversary of the martyrdom of Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani in his hometown, Kerman, on Wednesday. No group has claimed responsibility for the blasts.

The tragic incident came a day after Israel assassinated Deputy Head of the Political Bureau of Hamas Saleh Al-Arouri in Lebanon’s Beirut.

Israel has been carrying out heavy bombardment across the Gaza Strip since early October, killing more than 22,000 Palestinians, including thousands of children and women, and wounding over 57,000 others, and levelling entire neighbourhoods. Thousands more are missing and feared buried under the rubble.

Since the start of the Gaza crisis, Iranian officials have repeatedly cautioned that the current status in West Asia resembled a powder keg which could spiral out of control. Tehran warned that if diplomatic bids to stop the Israeli assault prove to be unsuccessful, there will be a risk of the conflict escalating uncontrollably, with multiple regional players joining the fight.

The Qatari emir, for his part, strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Kerman which he said was carried out by those seeking to spread tensions in Iran.

Al-Thani added that Qatar is assured about Iran's national unity and stands united with Tehran.

He emphasized that Doha and Tehran must enhance cooperation and hold deeper consultations with the regional and Muslim states to stop the Israeli regime's crimes against the Palestinian people of the besieged enclave.
