An Iranian policeman has been martyred and four others were wounded in a terrorist attack on police patrol vehicles in the city of Bampour in Sistan and Baluchestan Province.

Iran’s Police Chief Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Radan stated on Thursday the Pakistani-based terror group, Jaish Al-Adl, was behind the assault.

Sistan and Baluchestan province, which borders Pakistan, has witnessed several terror attacks targeting both civilians and security forces over the past years.

Jaish Al-Adl has conducted several bomb attacks and kidnappings in Southeastern Iran in a bid to disrupt the country’s security and stability. The terror group enjoys all-out backing of the United States and some Arab countries in West Asia.

Back in July, four police officers were martyred in Sistan and Baluchestan province in a terrorist attack. The raid carried out on the Khash-Taftan road in Zahedan, which is the capital of Sistan and Baluchestan Province.

Iranian military officials have warned neighboring countries to observe the principle of good neighborliness and not allow destabilizing activities on their soil.

In recent years, Iranian security agents have captured hundreds of members of the terror groups planning to carry out terror attacks across the country. The militants were involved in making explosives and hand-made bombs and linked to foreigners and planned to carry out counter-security acts and set up operational groups to direct the riots in Iran.

Iran has been the target of terrorist attacks in the past few decades and thousands of its citizens have been martyred by the terrorist groups. Iranian officials stress that the country is a victim of terrorism. They say Tehran has lost more people than any other country in the fight against terrorism, critisizing the Western countries for their double-standard policies on terrorism.
