Palestinian Red Crescent Society Accuses Israeli Forces of War Crime for Gaza Ambulance Attack

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) denounced Israeli forces for attacking an ambulance convoy in Gaza on Friday, resulting in 15 deaths and injuries to over 60 individuals.

to report «iusnews»; The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) denounced Israeli forces for attacking an ambulance convoy in Gaza on Friday, resulting in 15 deaths and injuries to over 60 individuals.

In a statement early Saturday, the PRCS said that one of its ambulances was struck by “a missile fired by the Israeli forces” which was about two meters from the entrance to the Al Shifa hospital in Gaza, Al-Jazeera reported.

The attack resulted in the deaths of 15 Palestinians, leaving more than 60 injured.

The PRCS added that deliberately targeting medical teams constituted "a grave violation of the Geneva Conventions, a war crime".

World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said he was “utterly shocked” by reports of an attack on ambulances evacuating patients.

“We reiterate, patients, health workers, facilities, and ambulances must be protected at all times, always,” Tedros said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Israeli fighter jets targeted three hospitals in Gaza on Friday within the space of a few hours, the health ministry said.

Bombs were dropped in the courtyards of the Indonesian hospital, the Al-Quds hospital, and Al-Shifa hospital, Gaza's biggest medical facility.

Israel waged the bloody war on the Gaza Strip on October 7 after Hamas launched the surprise Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against the occupying entity.

Tel Aviv has also imposed a complete siege on the territory, cutting off fuel, electricity, food and water to the more than two million Palestinians living in the coastal sliver.

More than 9,227 Palestinians, including 3,826 children, have been killed and more than 23,500 wounded by Israeli attacks in Gaza since October 7.
