to report «iusnews»; Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian slammed the United States for giving the Israeli military the approval for committing mass atrocities against Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank.
During a joint presse conference with Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi in Tehran on Sunday, Amir Abdollahian said the new round of Israel’s attacks on Gaza and the West Bank started after the US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin attended the regime’s war cabinet meeting.
“On the one hand, the United States advises Israel through media to stop massacre of women, children and civilians, but in practice it supports and greenlights [Israel’s] genocide in Gaza. The United States must bear the consequences of this hypocritical behavior in support of Israel,” the Iranian diplomat warned.
He added that the Israeli regime has killed nearly 800 women and children in Gaza during the last two days alone.
“We were told by the resistance leaders a day before that if the current situation [in Gaza] continues, the region will enter a new phase and further spread of the war across the region is quite conceivable. [Therefore,] we warn all warmongers to stop this massacre before it is too late,” Iran's foreign minister said.
Amir Abdollahian added that some of the documents obtained by resistance groups through Operation al-Aqsa Storm prove that the Israeli regime seeks to expel all inhabitants of Gaza to parts of Egypt and transfer the inhabitants of the West Bank to Jordan.
He expressed hope that Egyptian officials would take steps to prevent this Israeli plot from being realized.
“Bringing the Zionist regime’s officials to justice at an international tribunal is a public demand [of the world] and lawsuits are being filed by some governments, including Iran, in cooperation with a number of other countries. We hope we would witness the trial of war criminals who have killed nearly 16,000 people in the last two months,” the senior diplomat continued.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Amir Abdollahian stressed that Iran has never sought insecurity and war in the region.
He once again warned “those warmongers who seek to expand the scope of war in Gaza and the West Bank" to stop their support for Israeli criminals before it is too late.
The Omani foreign minister, for his part, said he had discussed the latest developments in Palestine and the Zionist regime’s continued attacks on civilians with his Iranian counterpart.
He added the two foreign ministers stressed the need for the continuation of political efforts by the two countries with regard to Palestine.
Albusaidi also urged the international community to fulfill its duties toward Palestinians, so that security would be restored to the region along with an end to the Israeli siege of Gaza.
Following the Hamas military operation against Israel in early October, American officials promised rock-solid and unwavering support to Tel Aviv. The US has also pledged unwavering support for Israel as its military pummels Gaza with bombardment, announcing it will provide Tel Aviv with everything it needed. Washington has also deployed two aircraft carrier strike groups to the Mediterranean, as well as an amphibious assault ship carrying 2,000 sailors and marines.
Iranian officials say the United States is waging a war on Palestinians in the Gaza Strip through Israel, and cautions that the current status in West Asia resembled a powder keg which could spiral out of control. They stress death of thousands of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip is the outcome of the US massive military equipment’s shipments to the occupied territories, calling for trial of Israeli and American officials for their crimes against the Palestinian people. They note If Washington’s political and military aid to Zionists is cut off, the regime won’t be able to proceed its military campaign against the besieged strip.
Tehran says the Western leaders' trips to the occupied territories are aimed at giving artificial respiration to Israel and demonstrate the US' and Europe's concerns over the downfall of the Zionist regime.
At least 15,500 people have so far been killed in the besieged territory with over 40,000 people wounded. According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, 70 percent of victims of Israeli strikes on the blockaded territory are women and children. Thousands more are missing and feared buried under the rubble.
Iranian officials have in recent weeks cautioned that the current status in West Asia resembled a powder keg which could spiral out of control. They warned that if diplomatic efforts to stop Israeli onslaught are unsuccessful, there is a risk of the conflict escalating uncontrollably, with multiple regional players joining the fight.
Tehran says the history of Israel is full of assassinations, massacre, torture and killing of Palestinian kids, and described Tel Aviv regime's atrocities and massacre of Palestinian women and children as indicative of the destitute of Zionists. Iranian officials say Tel Aviv has been struggling for more than 70 years to exit its identity crisis which has been mixed with genocide, plunder, forced displacement and scores of other inhumane moves.
