to report «iusnews»;Iranian President Seyed Ebrahim Rayeesi said on Thursday that he will discuss the Gaza crisis and explore ways to enhance bilateral ties between Tehran and Moscow in various fields with Russian officials during his upcoming visit to Moscow.

Speaking to reporters before leaving Tehran for Moscow on Thursday, President Rayeesi said urgent push to stop the Israeli regime's bombing campaign against the Gaza Strip, lift the blockade on the enclave, provide aid to the Palestinians in the war-hit territory, and help the Palestinian people restore their absolute rights will be among other main topics to be discussed with Russian officials.

He added Iranian authorities have held talks with high-ranking officials from various countries about the Palestinian issue and Israel's ongoing onslaught against Gaza, which would be pursued during the visit to Moscow as well.

In early October, Hamas launched a multi-pronged surprise military operation via land, sea and air against Israel. The group announced it was in response to the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem and Israeli settlers’ growing violence against Palestinians. The attacks have so far killed more than 1,200 and injured over 5,500, according to Israeli officials. Hamas also announced it is holding between at least 200 and 250 hostages.

Following the multi-front attack by Hamas, Israel carried out heavy bombardment across the Gaza Strip, killing more than 16,200 Palestinians, including at least 7,000 children and over 4,800 women, and wounding over 42,000 others, and levelling entire neighbourhoods. Thousands more are missing and feared buried under the rubble. The bombing, as well as enforced displacement orders by the Israeli Army, has also pushed 1.9 million people out of their homes.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Iran’s president stated the promotion of political, economic, trade, cultural and knowledge-based collaboration between Tehran and Moscow is also among other objectives of his visit, which is taking place at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Rayeesi emphasized that the exchange of delegations between Tehran and Moscow showed that the two sides have taken steps to further promote relations in a bid to serve bilateral and regional interests.

Iran and Russia have a common stance on the regional peace, leading regional and trans-regional developments and the fight against unilateralism, he pointed out.

The president stressed the Eurasian Economic Union, the Shanghai Cooperation Council and the BRICS group of emerging economies have prepared the ground for the expansion of Tehran-Moscow ties and relations with the regional and allied states.

Since Tehran and Moscow enjoy common interests in economic, military and security affairs as well as friendly relationship pursue common policies on regional and international developments especially when it comes to taking stances in the face of the United States’ unilateral and interventionist strategies.

Iranian officials say Tehran and Moscow, both subjected to tough economic sanctions by the Western countries, are determined to deepen their economic cooperation, adding that there are great capacities for increasing the volume of bilateral trade.

Several officials in Tehran and Moscow have repeatedly accused the United States of using the dollar as an instrument to wage economic and political war. Iranian and Russian officials have touched on the policy to replace the dollar with national currencies, and use other currencies in place of the dollar, and stress that the dollar should be gradually ditched from global transactions.

Iran and Russia have in recent years grown exchange of visits by officials to speed up expansion of relations in recent months.
