to report «iusnews»; Iran’s border guards dismantled a terror team after heavy clashes in the country's Southeastern borders, killing a member of the group and wounding two others.

Iranian Border Police Commander Brigadier General Ahmad Ali Goudarzi said on Tuesday a member of the Ansar Al-Furqan terror outfit was killed in clashes with the country’s border guards in the region between Kastak and Jakigor villages in the Rask County in Sistan and Baluchestan province.

Sistan and Baluchestan province, which borders Pakistan, has witnessed several terror attacks targeting both civilians and security forces over the past years. Terror outfits have conducted several bomb attacks and kidnappings in Southeastern Iran in a bid to disrupt the country’s security.

Last month, a terrorist attack hit a police headquarters in the Southeastern city of Rask, martyring 11 police officers. In May, five Iranian border guards were martyred in clashes with militants in Sistan and Baluchestan province.

Iranian military officials have warned neighboring countries to observe the principle of good neighborliness and not allow destabilizing activities on their soil.

Brig. Gen. Goudarzi also stated the notable terrorist figure was a member of an alliance of terrorist groups operating in Eastern Iran and was involved in a terrorist attack in the city of Bampur last year.
