Jordan premier rules out reports on assisting Israeli regime

Jordanian Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh dismissed all accusations regarding Jordan’s role in providing the Israeli regime with a land or maritime path to circumvent the Yemeni armed forces' blockade in the Red Sea.

to report «iusnews»; Jordanian Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh dismissed all accusations regarding Jordan’s role in providing the Israeli regime with a land or maritime path to circumvent the Yemeni armed forces' blockade in the Red Sea.

According to the London-based Raialyoum newspaper, following reports by some Israeli sources that certain Arab countries, including Jordan, are aiding the Israeli regime to break the Yemen-imposed siege in the Red Sea, the Jordanian prime minister said that his country will not remain silent in the face of such “fabrications.”

There is neither a land bridge nor a maritime one from Jordan, Khasawneh clarified, adding that the transportation arrangements to and from the Arab country have remained untouched for over 25 years.

Some individuals try to question the Jordanian government’s position in this respect, but it stands with the residents of Palestine, the premier emphasized.

Abdel Bari Atwan, a prominent expert on Arab and Middle East affairs, had written an article published by Raialyoum newspaper, saying that the Yemeni resistance forces are paying heavy prices in terms of human and financial losses for closing the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab Strait to Israeli-linked ships, but certain Arab countries such as the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan open crossings to transfer goods to the Israeli-occupied territories.

Earlier, some media outlets reported based on the Israeli regime’s official statistics that the regime imported 65,410 tons of vegetables and fruits from Turkiye and Jordan from October 8, 2023, to February 11, 2024.
