to report «iusnews»; The head of the national crisis management organization of Iran has announced that 16 counties and 1,947 villages in the southeastern Iranian province of Sistan-Baluchestan have been stricken by flood in the last few days.
From February 28, the towns and villages have been hit by inundated waters after heavy rains across the province, Mohammad Hassan Nami told IRNA on Saturday.
The governor general and officials in the province have held emergency meetings from the outset of the crisis and made efforts to alleviate the risk and open up the routes blocked by the flood, Nami said.
He added that rescue teams and an air ambulance have been dispatched to the stricken areas.
Also, some boats and vehicles have been sent to transport ballot boxes, Nami noted.
