Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei delivered a speech on the occasion of the 35th demise anniversary of the Founder of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini (RA).

June 3rd marks the 35th anniversary of the demise of the late founder of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini (RA), who is known as an ever-living truth and flag of the Islamic Revolution.

Every year, a commemoration ceremony is held in Imam Khomeini’s Mausoleum, in southern Tehran in the presence of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei, senior state and military officials, as well as thousands of people from different walks of life.

The issue of Palestine is the first issue of the world today, Ayatollah Khamenei said, adding that the al-Aqsa Storm operation has drawn the world's attention to Palestine and made it the first issue of the world.

Al-Aqsa storm operation was a decisive blow to the Zionist regime, the Leader further stressed, saying that the Hamas attack happened right on time and destroyed the enemy's plans.

Citing Western analysts' sayings, he emphasized that Operation Al-Aqsa Storm would change the world, adding that the Zionist regime suffered a severe defeat from the Gaza-based Resistance group.

"The Zionist regime is gradually melting in front of the eyes of the people of the world," he noted, stressing that what Imam Khomeini predicted about the future of Palestine is being realized today.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the Leader touched upon the tragic passing of the late Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi and the country's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian who recently lost their lives in a helicopter crash.

Hailing the efforts of the Iranian president in following up on the issues of the country and serving the Iranian people, the Leader stressed that Raeisi and Amir-Abdollahian are considered as Martyrs of Service.

He also hailed the Iranian nation's glorious presence in the farewell ceremonies held for President Raeisi and Foreign Minister Amir-Abdollahian.

At the end of his remarks, Ayatollah Khamenei also called on the Iranian nation to hold the upcoming presidential election as glorious as possible, saying that the turnout in the election would be a great achievement for the people of Iran.

Iran will hold presidential elections on June 28, following the martyrdom of President Ebrahim Raeisi and his entourage in a helicopter crash in May.

Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian were martyred in a helicopter crash in the northwestern province of East Azarbaijan.

The helicopter carrying President Raeisi and his accompanying delegation crashed in the Dizmar forest, nestled between the cities of Varzaqan and Jolfa in East Azarbaijan Province.

It was transporting Raeisi, Amir-Abdollahian, East Azarbaijan Governor Malek Rahmati, Friday Prayers leader of the city of Tabriz Seyyed Mohammad Ali Al-e Hashem, and a member of the president’s bodyguard team Mahdi Mousavi. The helicopter’s pilot, co-pilot, and crew were also among others on board the chopper.

President Raeisi and his accompanying delegation were returning from a ceremony to inaugurate a dam on the Aras River with Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev.

Following the tragic martyrdom of Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei declared a 5-day mourning in Iran.

Millions of people participated in the farewell ceremonies that were held for martyrs in the cities of Tabriz, Qom, Birjand, Mashhad, and Tehran.
