 Iran exports $100m irrigational equipment in 8 mos: official

An official at Iran’s Ministry of Agriculture has said the country exported $100 million worth of irrigation parts and equipment to the target countries in the first eight months of the current Iranian calendar year (Mar. 21).

 

to report «iusnews»; Speaking at a news conference of 10th Exhibition of Agriculture & Irrigation System dubbed “Iran Agri Show 2026”, Iran’s Deputy Minister of Agriculture for Water and Soil Affairs Safdar Niyazi Shahraki stated that the irrigational parts and equipment are currently exported to 18 countries of the world, mainly the Central Asian states including Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Turkey, Iraq and Persian Gulf littoral states.

Turning to the considerable reduction of water resources in the agricultural sector, he noted that continued production, maintaining food security and reducing dependency on imports at the current situation is impossible without taking a advantage of the science and technology. 

Turning to the key role of exhibitions in transferring technical knowhow and technology, the deputy agriculture minister pointed out that these exhibitions pave suitable platform for showcasing the latest achievements in the areas including water productivity, increase of efficiency of irrigation and improvement of the production performance.

The 10th Exhibition of Agriculture & Irrigation System dubbed “Iran Agri Show 2026” will be held this weekend for a period of three days.
